Lyfe Launch - Transition Program

WHAT DOES YOUR FUTURE HOLD?

Our transition program helps prepare teens for the future

A Transition Program for Future Readiness

What does your student aspire to become? Most importantly, are they prepared for the real world?

Our comprehensive transition program will help your student prepare for life beyond high school. This program will encourage students to develop and apply their skills to different interests.

It is designed to teach independent living skills, and prepare students for either employment or post-secondary education.

As students make progress, they fine-tune their work abilities, determine job preferences, and learn to work with growing independence.

What to Expect

The Exploration Lab: Real, Hands-on Experience

Our PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System) allows students to become โ€œemployeesโ€ and teachers to become โ€œemployers.โ€ We use this lab to assess a student's competitive work potential and interest level while simultaneously exploring various jobs, using real tools, and developing proper work behaviors in construction, industrial industry, service, computer technology, processing, production, and business and marketing.

Getting Out Into the Community

Weekly community outings allow students to explore a variety of businesses in person with the goal of internship or future employment. These outings also enable students to hone daily living skills, including accessing public transportation, retail shopping at a big box or grocery store, and finding entertainment spots.

Independence: Learning the Ins & Outs of Adulthood

From Personal Finance classes to Lyfe 101 and Apartment Living, students will learn the ins and outs of independent living. This includes things like signing a lease, moving in, keeping the apartment clean, cooking simple meals, being a good roommate, and other practical tasks like making a doctorโ€™s appointment or ordering an Uber.

Lyfe Market

Students in Lyfe Launch run an on-campus store called Lyfe Market, where they purchase and stock products and learn about pricing, logistics, marketing, and much more. During break, they sell items to fellow students and learn the ins and outs of running a small business in a fun and interactive way. Check out the menu they made!

โ€œWe brought on a young gentleman named Garrett, the whole hiring process was easy, sent over a copy of our application and they had him fill it out. Offered to send a copy of it back if we wanted but I opted to pick it up and got to meet him when I did. From there we got him in for an interview 2 days later and he started working the next week. The kids from this school are phenomenal. We have one previous student as well who has been with us for almost 3 years, and now our newest hire. He picked up on everything so quick and easily he has been a true blessing to work with. Such a great kid coming from such an incredible school and program.โ€
